“Now you are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God’s very own family, citizens of God’s country, and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.”
The Church may be described in many different ways according to the Bible. It could be illustrated as an Army of believers since it is commissioned by the Lord Jesus to go and make disciples who make disciples. It also has the face of a Corporate entity that complies with government rules and regulations. It is the Body of Christ where every part rejoices and suffers with each other. But more than anything else, the Church is the Family of Jesus’ followers, and God expects every Christian to belong to a local church family because a Christian without a church family is an orphan.
“Discovering Agape Church Membership Class” was put together to introduce our church family to whoever is considering Agape to become their local church family. Fundamental facts about our church are discussed in this class. This class answers questions such as; What God has done for us? Why do we exist as a church? How do we fulfill our God-given purpose? When and where do we fulfill our purpose?
Do not ever think that coming to Christ, and belonging to His church is like the old fashion board game called “Snakes and Ladders”. Because it’s NOT! You come to the Lord as you are, and His church welcomes you for who you are. “Discovering Agape Church Membership Class” is not like an admission or qualifying test before getting into a college institution. But rather, it is more like an orientation class giving prospective members an informed choice if Agape is indeed the church family that they’d like to become part of. Would you hop onto a ship without knowing why it was there in the first place, without knowing where it’s going, and without knowing who’s commanding the ship? Maybe not!
